Those enjoying a walk along the stunning Portland coastline may have spotted the arrival of a special guest at the Osprey Quay Sunseeker Superyacht facility last week, as a helicopter touched down to mark a significant moment in the construction of a Sunseeker 134 Yacht.
The arrival signalled a personal visit from the yacht’s owner, who joined the Sunseeker team to witness a major milestone in the build: the lifting of the yacht’s hull from her mould. Using two large cranes in a carefully coordinated operation, the hull was successfully extracted and transported back into the build shed, where she will now enter the next phase of production.
This stage represents a transition from structural formation to the detailed craftsmanship that defines every Sunseeker yacht. From here, the vessel will begin to take shape internally, with the integration of systems, bespoke interiors and the many personalised elements chosen by the owner.

One of the defining aspects of commissioning a truly bespoke superyacht is the collaborative journey between owner and shipyard. Throughout the build process, owners can make hundreds of individual design choices, from materials and finishes to layout details and bespoke features. These decisions span everything from carpets and furnishings to joinery, lighting schemes and beyond, ensuring each yacht is a unique expression of its owner’s vision.
Regular visits to the shipyard form an important part of this experience. Owners are welcomed behind the scenes to meet the highly skilled craftspeople and engineers bringing their yacht to life, to witness the precision and expertise involved, and to see their project evolve at each stage.
The recent hull lift marks a significant milestone not only for the owner, but for the entire Sunseeker team as the brand proudly reaffirms its position in Superyacht production.
